Trackside Jennie

“Trackside” Jennie today: Rees is Kentucky Downs’ publicity director and the communications specialist for both the Kentucky and the National Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association (HBPA). Repeat clients include the Preakness Stakes, Indiana Derby, Second Stride, Highlander Training Center, Texas Thoroughbred Association, Kentucky Living and various HBPA affiliates. Part of her work for the Kentucky HBPA involves providing racing content, including video interviews, free to resource-strapped news outlets on the road to the Kentucky Derby, Derby and Preakness Weeks and at the Breeders’ Cup. She prides herself on developing relationships with civic officials and legislators, explaining the jobs-heavy racing industry.
